Full Name: James B. Marvin (ca. 1862)

Description/History:
A full standing pose showing Marvin in civilian dress who is credited with helping save the regiment’s national flag from capture as the Union lines disintegrated during the battle of Kingston, North Carolina, on March 8, 1865. Marvin enlisted during August 1862, and served faithfully throughout the war being discharged from service in June 1865. On the verso is a period pencil identification.

Condition: Light soiling, else very good.
